Ford and his Plumber's Crack

For a while now there have been allegations about Major Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine, yet he strongly denied that statement. There were rumors of a video of him smoking the drug, and it was being auctioned off to the highest bidder, yet once the deadline came for the video to be released it mysteriously disappeared! Seriously? Who else thinks that Ford was behind the disappearance of the video? I mean, he has tons of connections, so it is plausible that he would stoop this low to protect his status. But that's just my opinion.

Time for the facts! Yesterday, November 5th 2013, Rob Ford admitted to smoking crack cocaine. He said, "Yes I have smoked crack cocaine. But no, do I? Am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately a year ago..." He also goes on further to say that he has been times where  he has been in a drunken stupor, and that he has made mistakes in the past. He acknowledged that he has problems, which is good, yet he still has made these mistakes when he has been in an authoritative position. Take a look at this video to see what he has to say: http://www.ctvnews.ca/videoclipId=1037731&playlistId=1.1528827&binId=1.810401&playlistPageNum=1

This is the Mayor of Toronto here! Yeah, there's drugs in Toronto but I think it is inappropriate for him to be taking part in these actions! For someone that has so much power, I don't think that it's right for him to do these drugs and drink excessively at points. This is someone who is in charge of Toronto, he makes decisions for the city. If he can't make sound decisions in his personal life, how can the people of Toronto trust him to make good decisions for their city?

Now, not all is bad about Rob Ford; he has reduced the taxes for the citizens.

Of course the past is the past, but when the past he is talking about is only a year ago - when he was in power - is that forgivable? From Fame to Shame, Rob Ford was the respected mayor of Toronto, helping out the community, and now he has verified that he has smoked crack cocaine. Should Ford step down from being mayor because of this, or should he remain mayor, letting his personal affairs distract him preventing the city from succeeding? That's your decision!

  1. He should definitely not be the mayor he needs to get himself in check before he thinks he can be responsible for a whole city! I hate people who think that because they have power the law doesn't apply to them. This is a corrupted world we live in if he remains being the mayor. And one thing that really bothers me is the "probably approximately" combination he keeps using. He doesn't even KNOW when it was obviously he's not sound in his own mind. He is an unfit leader and he should not have anything to do with politics. This is so messed up!

  2. I cannot even take hearing his name, that may sound bad to some, but frankly there is more bad than good when I think about Rob Ford/ or when his name pops in the crowd. If there even was an assumption in the first place of our own mayor doing drugs, there should be no second thoughts. If he was elected by the 'people', I hope their minds have changed towards him now, because otherwise he really cannot get kicked off from being mayor. And agreeing with Jenny, his 'incomplete' answers make me even more mad. Rob should own up to it, he claims to have power either way..
